Kranevo Holiday Resort in Bulgaria

Kranevo is a resort village on the seaside. The sea is shallow and allows safe baths for children. The name of the village comes from Kraneia fortress. In 1968 mineral water 24°C was found in the site. Kranevska River is flowing close by the village. The climate is strongly influenced by the sea. The summer is sunny and hot. Kranevo is a small village 24 kilometers north- east of Varna.. It is known as a resort for small kids, where they go for their vacation - many school camps you can find here. Also, this place would be suitable for those on a budget. Accommodation could be found amongst the big number of private rooms offered. Kranevo fascinates tourists with its whitewashed houses and red-tile roofs. Every house has a flower garden and a vine arbour where beaming hostesses welcome their guests and treat them to some chilled grape brandy. Home- made dishes are usually prepared with vegetables and fruits grown by the landlords. The beach is wide and covered with light sand. Sea is shallow with slight inclination. Just by the coastline are situated the camps “International” and “Exotic”. North from Kranevo is the valley of Batova river. “Golden sands” and Albena are very close to the small village of Kranevo. Tourists can take a pleasant walk along the beach to Albena. There is a regular bus transport to Varna, Dobrich, Balchik and Kavarna.

Places of Interest

Relatively close to Kranevo is the famous Aladzha rock monastery. On the opposite direction are located the town of Balchik with its beautiful palace and Botanic Garden.

Kranevo Accommodation

Despite its relatively small size, Kranevo offers plenty of cosy private hotels (usually family-run ones) and rest homes. Kranevo is a good budget alternative to its more package-oriented neighbours of Albena and Golden Sands, although there is still little there in terms of sights or entertainment. The village hosts a lot of summer camps for children and students.

Places to Eat and Drink

Similarly to other small villages and towns, Kranevo has seen a swift expansion of the tourism industry in the past few years, particularly as regards restaurant service and accommodation capacity. There are plenty of pubs, traditional and fast-food restaurants.

Entertainment & Nightlife

The holiday resort has a number of tennis courts, bars, casino, restaurants with night shows, children playgrounds, swimming pools, and a pitch and put course.

Getting Around

The main coastal road passes through the eastern outskirts of Kranevo. One can well rely on the regular Varna - Albena and Varna - Balchik bus lines, which also stop by in the village of Kranevo.
