Sunny Beach is a holiday destination packed with attractions. The village of Sveti Vlas and the Elenite holiday resort are situated just a few kilometres away from Sunny Beach. The forest along the Hadzhiiska River and the dunes stretching between the road and the resort are very attractive to nature lovers. The picturesque town of Nessebar is also extremely close to Sunny Beach, as its newly built houses to the north almost merge with the resort. Not far from Sunny Beach is the beautiful Emine cape.
Sunny beach resort provides a huge choice of accommodation both beachfront and a short walk from all the amenities. The most popular hotels include are Kuban Hotel, Bourgas Hotel and Diamond Hotel. The Delta, Amphora, Zephyr and Esperanto hotels are a part of the Black Sea Complex of the resort a particular favourite for families. Sunny Beach includes more than 150 restaurants, some offering floor shows and excellent food, there are also a large variety of snack bars and cafeterias. Some restaurants offer basic international cuisine but local dishes predominate, mainly pork, chicken, lamb and fish; the local beer and wine are also great value. Shopska salad (grated goat's cheese on a bed of chopped tomatoes, cucumber and black olives) is a refreshing starter or side order. For fast-food addicts, there is a McDonald's outlet.
The resort of Sunny Beach has a number of tennis courts, bars, nightclubs, casino, restaurants with night shows, children playgrounds, swimming pools, and a crazy golf course. You can hire a bike, sailing boats and jetskis. The whole range of water sport facilities are on offer with instructors available for those in need of them. The newly-built Aquapark is a must not only for children but also for adults. It offers numerous attractions - Niagara, Black Hole, Crazy River, Hydro-tube, Megaslide, Kamikadze, Twister, Kid's Playground, Watercastle.
Sunny Beach has its own transport network - a mini-train travels from one end of the ten-kilometre beach to the other during the season. There is regular bus transport from Nessebar and Bourgas to Sunny Beach, and plenty of private minibuses and taxis. There is also water transport to and from Nessebar and Bourgas. Ticket fares are moderate because of high competition.
